New Virginia Majority Newsletter: September 2021

Thank you for your ongoing support of New Virginia Majority. This month, we ramped up our voter outreach efforts while continuing our year-round community organizing work on housing justice, economic justice, and more. Check out our September updates below:

Vote Early in the 2021 Election

This month, Governor Northam ceremonially signed the Voting Rights Act of Virginia into law, giving Virginia some of the strongest voter protections in the nation at a time when voting rights are under attack across the country.

You can vote early in person at your local registrar’s office during business hours through Saturday, October 30. Contact your registrar for more information on early voting locations or check out our voter portal where you can register to vote, check your registration status, and request an absentee ballot.

Mobile Home Residents March to Keep Their Homes

NVM’s Loudoun/Western Fairfax chapter organized a rally and march with Leesburg Mobile Home Park residents. The mobile home park is home to 75 families of predominantly working class Latin American immigrants. They are at risk of losing their homes after the mobile home park was purchased by an undisclosed buyer for $11 million dollars. Read the Loudoun Housing Justice Coalition's letter to the editor in support of Leesburg Mobile Park residents.
