New Virginia Majority's members have spoken. Through our democratic Leadership Council process, we've endorsed candidates who will fight alongside us to create a Virginia that works for all of us, with a specific focus on addressing our housing crisis, protecting immigrant communities, and advancing economic justice.
"These primary endorsements emphasize the work we're committed to doing, from strengthening tenants' rights and making home-ownership more accessible, to protecting Virginia's immigrant communities and Virginia people's freedoms at-large. We're proud to partner with these candidates to put our communities first." — Sakina Bennett, NVM Political Director
Our Member-Driven Endorsement Process
New Virginia Majority's endorsements aren't made in back rooms by political insiders. Our Leadership Council—composed of members from working-class communities of color across Virginia—reviews questionnaires, conducts interviews, and makes recommendations based on candidates' alignment with our core priorities, especially affordable housing.
For 2025, we have made affordable housing our top priority. All endorsed candidates have committed to supporting:
- Anti-rent gouging efforts that limit annual increases
- Statewide housing voucher programs with protection against discrimination
- First-time homebuyer grants to make ownership accessible to more Virginians
