New Virginia Majority Announces Slate of Endorsements
New Virginia Majority (NVM) announced endorsements for the 2025 Lt. Governor race, along with candidates for House District 57, and Norfolk and Newport News Commonwealth Attorneys. Endorsements include Ghazala Hashmi for Lt. Governor, May Nivar for House District 57, Ramin Fatehi for Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney, and Shannon Jones for Newport News Commonwealth’s Attorney.
“These primary endorsements emphasize the work we’re committed to doing, from strengthening tenants’ rights and making home-ownership more accessible, to protecting Virginia’s immigrant communities and Virginia people’s freedoms at-large. We’re proud to partner with these candidates to put our communities first,” said Sakina Bennett, NVM political director.
“I'm running for Lieutenant Governor because of what Trump and Musk are doing to families like yours and mine. I am honored to earn the endorsement of New Virginia Majority and I'm excited to work together to fight for working families all across our Commonwealth, said Ghazala Hashmi, candidate for Lt. Governor.
“I look forward to working closely with NVM to win this critical battleground race and advance economic justice for working-class communities and communities of color across Virginia,” said May Nivar, candidate for House District 57.
“My campaign is about building a justice system that uplifts every community, and I’m honored to have NVM join me in this fight for lasting change,” said Shannon Jones for Newport News Commonwealth’s Attorney.
We look forward to working with our allies to elect candidates that are committed to fighting for working class communities of color and creating a Virginia that works for all of us.
