New Virginia Majority Newsletter: February 2023

Thank you for your ongoing support of New Virginia Majority. Here are some updates from our organization this month.

Jennifer McClellan Wins Congressional Seat

NVM ally State Senator Jennifer McClellan won a historic victory in Virginia’s 4th Congressional District. She will be joining the 118th United States Congress as the first Black woman elected from the commonwealth of Virginia. Congratulations Congresswoman-elect McClellan!

Meeting with Delegate Tran

On the 16th, our political team, along with NVM canvassers, met with Delegate Kathy Tran after they participated in a legislative observation day. They met to discuss the priorities of Black, brown, AAPI, and immigrant communities in Virginia. They also talked about our long term priorities, both current and past, like driver privileges cards and the current housing crisis. The Delegate has expressed her support for the priorities of our diverse communities all across the Commonwealth.
