New Virginia Majority, Virginia's leading civic engagement organization, builds power in working-class communities of color across the Commonwealth. We organize for racial and economic justice through mass organizing, intensive leadership development, political education, and strategic communication. We fight for a Virginia that is just, democratic and environmentally sustainable.

The Organizer Academy, New Virginia Majority's intensive 3-day training, is designed to provide activists and budding organizers with tools and strategies to organize in Virginia's most impacted communities. The Organizer Academy will be 3 full-days of training that includes both classroom and field components. The training will be held from 1 pm Friday, February 23 to 4 pm Sunday, February 25, 2018 in Alexandria, Virginia.

Qualifications:
Strong commitment to racial and economic justice and a desire to learn various aspects of organizing fundamentals. Attendees must be committed to all three days of the training.

A light breakfast and lunch, as well as lodging will be provided, in addition to a stipend for transportation and other expenses.

Note: This training is intended for people with a serious interest in working full-time to organize and build power in Virginia.
