Immigrant Justice

We believe in a Virginia that is welcoming and provides an opportunity for all of its residents to succeed and live happy and healthy lives.  Whether documented or undocumented, immigrants across the Commonwealth work hard and pay taxes. They want nothing more than to be hardworking contributors to the country they call home, and we should embrace their dedication, energy, talents and courage – characteristics that have made our country great.

We fight for:

  • Immigration Reform
  • Driving privileges for Virginians regardless of their immigration status .

    • Virginia should become a leader in passing legislation that requires ALL drivers to obtain a Virginia Driver’s License regardless of their immigration status.  Driving is a basic necessity in the state of Virginia. Most people drive to get to school, go to work, take their kids to school, go to church or take care of a loved one during an emergency.
  • Allow Virginia students who meet certain criteria to pay in-state tuition, regardless of their immigration status.
    • Our economic future depends on educating all of our youth, including our immigrant youth. For every individual that attends college and obtains a professional job, that means increased earnings resulting in higher taxes paid, more money spent and investment back into the economy, and less reliance on the social safety net.
